Microsoft Architecture Journal – Issue 13 Call For Papers
Issue 12 of the Journal is now complete and at the printers in time for TechEd US in June. If you are coming to TechEd in Orlando, be sure to swing by the Architecture lounge on the exhibitor floor to pick up your copy! If you are not at TechEd this year, you'll still have opportunity to download the issue online at the same time.
It's now of course time to start thinking about the next issue. Software + Services has been a primary message in recent speeches from Microsoft's Chief Software Architect, Ray Ozzie - outlining a vision of applications that are a hybrid of software that lives on the client or device, and services in the cloud. For the next issue of the Journal I'd love to share your thoughts, patterns, and best practices for applications that fit this vision. Have you built one of these types of applications that is a mix of software and services? Have you created a framework that supports these types of applications? Do you have thoughts, recommendations and potential pitfalls that you'd like to share with other fellow software architects?
If so, you may be interested in writing an article for the next issue. I'll need a 2 – 4 paragraph abstract explaining how your paper fits the theme of the magazine to editors@architecturejournal.net. The cut off date for this abstract is Monday 4th June, and if your paper is accepted you'll have between 4 and 6 weeks to write the final article.
For more information about making a submission and writing for the Journal, be sure to check out the details here. For more information on the Software + Services theme, I'd recommend watching Ray's recent keynote speech at Mix this year.
